Adela Skros

Adela Skros, age 94, formerly of Jersey City and Manalapan, NJ, passed into eternal rest on October 12, 2019. Born in Sulejow, Poland on December 19, 1924, she is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Ann Blaszczyk with husband Joseph, Teresa Ernst, and Ewa Agusta with husband John; her adored grandchildren Mark Kielczynski with wife Marcy, Diana Kielczynski Perez with husband Joseph, Eric Ernst with wife Bernadette, Kevin Ernst with wife Kayla, Christopher Blaszczyk, Andrew Blaszczyk, James Agusta and Jacqueline Agusta; and her cherished great-grandchildren Zachary, Adam and Rachel Kielczynski, JJ and Nicholas Perez, Nolan and Nathaniel Ernst, and Owen and Kendyl Ernst; her nephew Peter Kaplarczuk; her sister-in-law, Aniela Skros Klukojc and nephew John Klukojc with wife Beth and their sons and her niece Jadwiga Skros Monczka with husband Arthur and their children and grandchildren and the entire Skros family including brother-in-law Stefan with wife Hania and their children and grandchildren in the United Kingdom as well as extended family in Poland.

Adela was predeceased by her parents Michal and Helena Kolkowski, her first husband Piotr Swoboda and her ex-husband Jan Skros, and her beloved daughter and son-in-law Halina (Swoboda) and Jan Kielczynski, her brother Edward, her sister and brother-in-law Zofia and Elias Kaplarczuk, her nephew Edward Kaplarczuk, and her loved son-in-law Robert Ernst.

Adela went from working the family farm as a young child to being taken to Siberia at the age of 16, going through the war working at a hospital, living in a camp in England and finally settling in the United States.  Her family was her greatest accomplishment and filled her with much love, pride and joy.

Visitation will be held at Michalski Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17th from 3 to 7pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, on Friday at 11am.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
