Christopher W. Hayes (July 20, 1957 - Dec. 3, 2019)

Christopher W. Hayes, of Jersey City, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. He was 62. Born in Greenville, Jersey City, Chris graduated from Marist High School, and attended NJ Institute of Technology and NYU. He worked in the mutual fund industry for nearly 30 years, holding management positions at National Securities Clearing Corporation, Pershing, Bank of New York, J&W Seligman, Guardian Life, and E-Trade. He enjoyed travel, gardening, pop music divas, and making people laugh. Chris is survived by his longtime partner, Steven Herrick, and brothers Daniel and Timothy Hayes. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Hayes, and brothers Jack and Martin Hayes. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, December 7, being held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Michalski Funeral Home, 463 Monmouth Street, Jersey City. A service will be held at 4:00 p.m. led by the Reverend Stephen N. Symbolik III. In lieu of flowers, all are welcome to donate to Cooper Square Committee, 61 East 4th Street, NY, NY 10003 or the Ali Forney Center, 224 East 35th Street, NY, NY 10001.
