Doreen Rutter Obituary

Doreen C. Brennan Rutter was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on July 27, 1956. She entered Heaven's gates on January 14, 2019.

A loving mother, homemaker and school crossing guard, Doreen was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and watching old movies. She loved to watch Jeopardy with her sons, cooking channels and old movies with her daughter-in-law and a few reality shows during her spare time. She was known for her gift for gab and would always wave if you called her name. She was a dedicated church parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church located in Secaucus, NJ. Her bright smile, fun-loving nature, wit and comedic timing brought so much joy and laughter to others, especially to her family.

Doreen is survived by her son, John J. Rutter, his wife Jennifer Blanchard Rutter, and her son Joseph V. Prestimonico. She is also survived by her three sisters, Jacqueline Marto, her husband Joe Marto, Debbie Dressler and Catherine DiBella, her uncle Thomas Brennan, his wife Elizabeth Brennan, her cousins Colleen Brennan and Patrick Brennan, along with seven strong nephews and one beautiful niece; several loyal and fond cousins and quite a few dear friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Michalski Funeral Home, 463 Monmouth St., Jersey City, NJ.
