Kenneth R. Barr

Kenneth was born July 9th 1945 to the late Madeline Rose Barr and James  Adam Barr. He departed this life December 3rd, 2018 in his Cranford home surrounded by his family. 

He received his Primary and Secondary Education in Westfield, NJ, graduating from Westfield High School. He went on to attend Lincoln Technical Institute, where he studied Automotive Technology, receiving his Certification in Teaching; he also attended the Institute of Audio Research.

He was a teacher at Essex County Vocational Technical School and Lincoln Technical Institute.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted and loving wife Cynthia C. Field-Barr; three children Kenneth Richard Barr, Jr., Stephanie Michele Gatlin (Gerald Anthony Gatlin, Sr.), and Kantu R. Barr;  grandchildren Gerald Anthony Gatlin, Jr., Matthew Joseph Gatlin; sisters Agnes Rolley, Margaret Jones, and one brother, Douglas R. Barr (Soueno Barr); sister-in-law Anna Young and brothers-in-law Carl Fields and Lamont Spowl; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be on Tue. Dec. 11, 2018, 10am at Bethel Baptist Church, 539 Trinity Pl, Westfield, NJ. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Michalski Funeral Home, 463 Monmouth St., Jersey City.
