Adelina Cruz

Adelina Cruz, 86 years old, was called home to our Lord on August 13th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family in Millville, New Jersey

She was born on March 19, 1935 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Justo and Adeline Molina who predeceased her in death.

Adelina was known to her friends as "Lydia".  She was a beautiful woman with strong faith and deep love to her family.  She was a hard-working, passionate figure of strength who never waned in her support or love of her family.  She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, and having a good time with her family

Adelina moved in the late 1950's from Puerto Rico to the United States to pursue a better life and opportunities for herself and her loved ones.

Through countless gatherings of family and friends, where meals and laughter were shared.  She set the example of strong values to share and honor for years.

She married Angel Luis Cruz on November 11, 1958.  They had two children, son Angelo and daughter Nilsa.  Unfortunately her marriage was cut short.  She became a widow at 26 years.  She went on to raise her children with lots of love and support through her siblings and family. 

Adelina is survived by her sister Carmen Velez and her brother in law Vidal Velez, and her nieces Grizel and Daisy; her son Angelo and her daughter in law Evelyn and grandchildren Angelo and Nilsa Grizel; her daughter Nilsa and her three grandchildren Jonathan, Joshua, and Jovann.

Adelina is survived by her five amazing grandchildren, eleven great grandkids, and all of her loving nieces and nephews.

Adelina was predeceased in death by her parents Adelina and Justo, her brothers Felix, Victor, Tony, Carmelo, and Alfredo, and her sister Ramona.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 18th from 4pm to 8pm.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
