Carmen was born in Hato Rey, San Juan, Puerto Rico, on January 31st, 1948, to her parents Basilisa Rodriguez Rodriguez and Angel Parrilla Torrens.
She worked for two years as a secretary in San Juan and then moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1969, where she began to work for the Federal Government at the Selective Service System office in Union City as a secretary.
Once the Selective Service System terminated the mandatory draft registration for all 18 - 25 year old male citizens in 1975, Carmen began to work as a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) moving up to Field Representative for many years up to her retirement in 2006.
On October 15, 1977, her most precious gift for heaven came to her as a big, beautiful boy named Robert Abad, who is very caring, intelligent, and loved his mother very much.
Carmen is survived by her son Robert A. Parrilla, her only living sibling Juan A. Parrilla, nieces and nephews, cousins and many life-long friends who adored her for many years.
