Deborah “Debbie” Dressler (Sampson), 57, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1968, and lived a life filled with love, generosity, and joy.
Debbie dedicated 20 years of her life working as a telephone operator for the Hudson County Courthouse, where she was known for her kindness and warm spirit. She had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
She was the loving mother of Richard A. Dressler and the beloved companion of Michael O’Keefe. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Valerie, who she absolutely adored. Debbie is survived by her sisters, Jacqueline Marto and her husband Joseph, and Catherine DiBella; her uncle Thomas Brennan and his wife Elizabeth Brennan; as well as many nephews, one niece, and many loving cousins who will cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her sister Doreen Rutter and her brother Bernard T. Urbanowicz.
Debbie found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved flowers and butterflies, and her spirit reflected that same beauty—free, vibrant, and full of life. She was a fan of Stevie Nicks, and her personality carried that same sense of individuality and light. She will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, her laughter, and most of all, her incredible generosity.
A true giver, Debbie was both a donor recipient and an organ donor, continuing her legacy of helping others even beyond her lifetime. Her kindness and selflessness will live on in the lives she touched.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michalski Funeral Home, 463 Monmouth Street, Jersey City, New Jersey.
Debbie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever in our hearts.
