Israel Reyes, 52, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 6, 2025, at 3:39 p.m., surrounded by his many loved ones. He was born on December 5, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised before later making his home in Jersey City. Throughout his life, he was known for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and deep love for his family.
More than anything, Israel adored his children and was their rock star—the one who always made them feel safe and loved. He was the comedian who could lift everyone’s spirits with his jokes, friend who never judged, and kind soul who could strike up a conversation with anyone. His warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and he was always willing to give without hesitation.
Israel found joy in the simple things, riding his bike along the Hudson River, taking trips to Puerto Rico, and being surrounded by the people he loved most. His presence filled every room with laughter, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
Israel is survived by his loving parents, Elina and Justo; beloved children, Natelina and Matthew; devoted sisters, Patricia, Olga, and Cecilia. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, who will all cherish his memory forever. His love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in their hearts.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Monday February 10, 2025, at Michalski Funeral Home, 463 Monmouth St, Jersey City, NJ 07302 at 4-8pm.
