Javier Gaetan Obituary

Javier Andres Gaetan, 51, of Jersey City, died June 8th, 2025. “Javi,” son of Ramon Gaetan and Irma Granados, passed away in his home in Jersey City, NJ.

He is survived by his siblings Wanda, Pocho, and Evette, his two children, Jaivian and Janaya, his niece Caridad, his daughter in-law Calista, and Lisa - the mother of his children. Javier is also survived by a long list of brothers, as his family extended well beyond his relatives, a list too long to count.

Javier worked in transportation and logistics for 20+ years. He most recently worked for the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority as a Job Coordinator. Many knew his occupation to be “Coach,” as he was able to impact the lives of many young men and women as a coach through Roberto Clemente Little League and the Jersey City Raiders for 10+ years.

“Javi” was a dear friend to so many, whose character spread far and wide as a true “Jersey City Original.” While he spent most of his time in Chilltown, he loved everything about his island of Puerto Rico, and took pride in his roots which led to Vega Baja, PR.

He had a passion for music, loved the Yankees, and was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan through and through. His favorite pastime was making memories with his friends and family, laughing, dancing, and most of all having a good time. He will be greatly missed by so many, but his energy, smile, and joy will live through so many others.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, from 1pm to 5pm.
