John William McKee

John William McKee of Hamilton Park, Jersey City, passed away on January 6, 2022, at the age of 75.

A native of Brooklyn, John was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech and City College.  He served in the Army in Germany, and Vietnam, and in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Major.

John began his professional career as an underwriter in the reinsurance industry and later became an Adjunct Professor of the subject at the College of Insurance and the American School of Business.  A gifted teacher, John rounded out his career, teaching adult students his favorite subject, the German language.

A talented singer and storyteller, John was a longtime member of the Rheinischer Sangerbund and the Carlstadt Mixed Chorus.

John is survived by his wife Joann Brennan McKee, and by his brother Terence, sister Mary, and their spouses and children. 

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2022, at St. Michael's Church, Jersey City, at 10am.
