It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we must announce that Kevin Vendrak, beloved Husband, Brother, Uncle, and Son, also known as Kapt. Kev, passed away very suddenly on Monday, August 11th.
Kevin was born on Jan 7th to Marie Vendrak (nee Orlowski) (deceased) and Karol Vendrak (deceased) in Jersey City, New Jersey. Graduating from Snyder High School in Jersey City, Kevin spent most of his time working on cars and motorcycles alike. A retired diesel mechanic, he took great pride in collecting and working on Harley Davidson motorcycles. Kevin, a true American patriot, was known for his love of the American flag. Kevin was also known for his heart of gold, investing much love, time, and energy into his family.
Kevin is survived by his wife Wendi Vendrak (nee Heidelmeier), brothers Kurt and Konrad, sisters Kristina (and her husband Hector) and Kimberlee, nephews Alex (and his wife Stacey) and Andrew, nieces Kristin (and her husband Michael,) Konnie, Brittany, and Gianna, great nephews Trevor, Roman and Maddox, great nieces Lyla and Tegan. Family was everything to Kevin, including his deceased brother and sisters, Karl, Karen (and her surviving husband Jerry,) and Karla, and he will forever have a lasting impact on our hearts. He is also survived by many cousins and friends alike, namely Joe Walejko, best friend and cousin.
In his lifetime, Kevin was known for his signature American Flag bandana, always wearing it wherever he went, always expressing his love for the American flag. A fantastic chef, Kevin was also known for his love of food and cooking for people, even going as far as to learn how to garden, grow vegetables, and take care of plants in his free time not spent working on motorcycles. Kevin, and the love he always had to give, will be missed dearly. As his mother Marie always said, Kevin is now sleeping with the angels.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 22nd, from 10am to 12pm. A service will be held in the chapel at 12pm followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
