Marie Vendrak

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Marie Rose Vendrak (née Orlowski.)  Marie passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in her Venice, Florida home.

Marie was born on April 2nd, 1934 to Agnes and John Orlowski in Jersey City, NJ.  Marie is the last surviving sibling of the Orlowski family (Helen, Clara, Nelly, Ann, Lillian, Joseph, Blanche, and Dolores.) She graduated from Ferris HS and lived most of her life in Jersey City with her family.  She moved to Venice, Florida in the early 2000’s.

Marie was, and will forever be, the true heart, soul, and rock of the family.  Marie was married for many years to her soulmate, Karol, Sr., who preceded her in death.  Marie dedicated her life to her eight children: Karol Jr. (deceased), Karla (deceased), Kurt, Kristina and her husband Hector, Kevin and his wife Wendi, Konrad, Karen (deceased) and her husband Jerry, and Kimberlee.  As a grandmother to Kristin and her husband Michael, Alexander and his wife Stacey, Konstance, Brittany, Andrew, Cody (deceased), and Gianna, she was the best Boppy; always taking care of and loving them as they grew up.  She was the Great-Grandmother (‘Great Boppy’) to Trevor,  Lyla, Tegan, Roman, and Maddox, and still had an incredible abundance of love to give. Marie was also a wonderful aunt to her many nieces, nephews, and their children. Marie was a true bright star and honest soul, and she will be dearly missed. It is through these children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family that we will remember her life, the stories she blessed us with, and the memories she made with us, incredibly fondly.

In her lifetime, Marie was an exuberant woman, known for her refreshing honesty, who loved to have fun in Atlantic City, playing the pick-it, listening to music, dancing, shopping on QVC, and sharing a good meal with her family. To say that our family and loved ones will miss her is an understatement; words cannot even begin to express how broken our hearts are, but we are truly blessed for having Marie in our lives for the many years she was with us. Like she always said to her family to bid them goodnight, Marie is now sleeping with the angels.
