Aunt Mary loved to cook and loved to feed others. She was especially known for her Sunday macaroni and gravy dinners. Aunt Mary always made enough to feed a tableful of family and frequently did. She would remark that she never had to eat alone; there was always family around. Even if other family members weren’t present, she could always count on Bobby. She was very devoted to him and he to her. They took care of each other. They often cooked together with Aunt Mary directing and Bobby executing. Bobby learned how to prepare dinners on his own, such as Friday’s meal, “broccoli soupy.” He would start cooking and direct her to go sit in the parlor. When dinner was ready, nothing delighted her more than Bobby calling out to her, “Mar, Come and eat!” They were a pair.
Aunt Mary was well loved by all her family. She will be sorely missed.
