Patricia Marie Goworek

 Patricia Goworek, 72, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, passed away on April 23, 2024.

Pat graduated from New Jersey City University (then Jersey City State College) with a degree in Education. She taught Special Education for Jersey City Public Schools for 25 years, ending her career at #9 School.

Patricia was an impassioned educator and pursuer of knowledge. She was an avid reader who was always accompanied by her ever-present Kindle. By nature, she proved to be a generous, caring, and loving soul. These character traits extended into her deep love of animals, most especially cats, and her steadfast loyalty to her friends, especially John Cruitt, Diane Walsh, Janice Carlin, Phyllis Zuckerman, Virginia Prudent, and Jennette Wallace.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents, Yolanda (Pisaniello) and Edward Goworek. She is survived by numerous cousins including Robert Goworek, Peter Pizzuto, Barbara Slawinski, and Anthony Zacche. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at 10am, at Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City.  The church will be open at 9am for family to greet visitors.

Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
