Tita Ortiz Mercado

Tita Ortiz Mercado, also known as Tina, left this earthly realm on June 26, 2022, after a long battled illness. She was 54 years old.
It would be wrong to say that Tina lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined and optimistic. When anyone else would have broken, Tina stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Tina. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. 
Tina was an amazing woman with a heart of gold. She was known to many as “Titi Tiny” but her proudest accomplishment was being a beloved mother. She was an exceptional wife and mother, always cared deeply for her family, friends and even animals. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help and she always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy. Tina was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others.
Tita Ortiz Mercado is survived by her husband Jose and their sons Kevin & Aaron, her siblings Elizabeth Ortiz, Philip Navarro, & Cindy Ortiz and many family. They invite you to join them for a memorial service at Michalski Funeral Home in Jersey City on Saturday at 3-6 pm. All are welcome.
