Valerie Paszul Obituary

Valerie Paszul entered into God's care on November 5, 2025. She was born in Sniezki, Poland, in 1935 and moved to Gdansk in 1958.  She immigrated to the United States in 1963 and settled in Jersey City, NJ, for the rest of her life. She was raised in a small village, but was happy and proud to live in Jersey City and work in New York. She worked as a cleaning lady in NYC office buildings, retiring at age 72. She often worked two or three jobs to make ends meet, and even managed a family-owned flower shop while still working full time. She was not afraid of hard work, even from an early age. She loved telling stories of her childhood in her village, family store, and farm.

Valerie was known for her boundless energy, hard work, and love and devotion to her family and her religion. She loved to cook, craft, crochet, take care of her grandchildren, and attend mass. She was a member of St. Anthony's parish since she arrived in Jersey City. She took pride in everything she did. She loved her home in Jersey City and could be seen sitting in front of the house selling her arts and crafts at her weekly gate sales, sweeping, shoveling snow, and painting the front of the house. She would walk everywhere with her shopping cart, or sit in the park. It was hard to keep up with Valerie.

She is predeceased by her parents Anna and Theodor, her brothers Gregosz, Olek, and Andrzej, and her loving son-in-law Peter Surach. She is survived by her brother Eugene, and sister Luba, her three children, Cris, Joseph, daughter-in-law Robin, Anna, son-in-law Hugo, her seven grandchildren, Melissa, Stephanie, Nicole, Joseph, Nicholas, Brooke, and Hugo, and her great-grandson Jack Carter. She is greatly missed.

Valerie was a very generous person, donating to multiple charities. At this time of so much need for kindness and generosity, the family asks kindly to donate to a charity of one's choosing in her honor.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, from 3pm to 6pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, on Monday, November 10th, at 9:30am.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
