William Santiago Obituary

“One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD."                                        “Footprints Poem”

William Santiago on August 15, 1964 took his first breath; on April 24,2025 took his last breath and was sent home to God. He was surrounded by loved ones the last few days on earth and went in peace. He was the son of the late Luz Lydia Santiago and George Santiago.

William was a hard worker and his life was a testament to loyalty, love, friendship and resilience. He brought warmth and laughter into every room, always offering a helping hand and a steady shoulder. His legacy lives on in the memories he helped create and the bonds he nurtured. Willie, who would go by the names “OG, Will, Shotgun Willie,” was kind hearted and very intelligent. He was a professional Glazier at Bobs’ Glass where he has been working since he was a young adult. Willie was a jack of all trades and was given the name “Mr. Fix it” because if something was broken, he either fixed it or made sure he tried his hardest to make it work. He was greatly loved and will be extremely missed. He was a grandfather, father, brother, uncle and true friend.

He is survived by his loving family: Son Willie Alvarado, Daughters Crystal Alvarado and Tiffany Romano and his late children Jessica Romano and Jeremy Santiago. His brother’s Jorge Santiago, Efrain Diaz, late Axel Samaria and sisters Betty Santana, Lucy Perez, Iris Santiago, Minerva Santiago Millie Macdade, and Nitza Aviles. Grandchildren Jordan Alvarado, Leila Alvarado, Olivia Diaz, Greyson Diaz and many nieces and nephews.  William’s presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A private memorial service will be held in his honor: Thursday May 1st ,2025 from 4-8 at Michalski Funeral Home. The family thanks all who have reached out with condolences and support during this time of mourning.

May He Rest In Eternal  Paradise.
